Illustrator and University of Huddersfield Graphic Design Course Leader, Brent Hardy-Smith has a raft of Mimaki technology at his hands when he needs to assist students with bringing their creative concepts to life through the medium of print. A devoted fan of the innovative brand’s LED UV technology (read more here) he uses the university’s UJF-3042 A3 flatbed to demonstrate everything from core colour principles right through to empowering students with competition entries, portfolio pieces and artistic work that helps them push their creative boundaries.

Mimaki Europe has announced today that its brand new hybrid digital textile printer, the Tx300P-1800 MkII, will headline their product line-up at FESPA 2020 (Madrid, Spain, 24-27 March, Stand 7-C20). On January 6, 2020, Mimaki Engineering Co., Ltd. and OKI Data Corporation, the OKI Group’s printer company, concluded an exclusive international sales agreement for the distribution of OKI Data’s wide format inkjet printers. Under the terms of this agreement, the two companies will expand their sales alliance in Japan, announced in March 2019, to encompass overseas sales.

Mimaki Europe has partnered with video game giant Minecraft along with a French government administration to deliver a nationwide competition aiming to raise awareness of social and environmental issues amongst young people. Having seen over 1,200 entrants vying to create the ultimate sustainable town using Minecraft’s video game platform – some as young as thirteen – Mimaki’s 3DUJ-553 full-colour 3D printer enabled the winning design to be brought to life in vivid detail in an intricate 3D printed model gifted to the victor this October, marking a year since the competition originally began.
